Introduction

Hello, My name Is Rob and this is going to be my little space for the next 3 years or so, I am about to embark on a new venture and will be sharing my experiences on here. Hopefully this will prove useful to anyone else considering a career in the Merchant Navy and will also be a way of informing my family and friends of my progress.
The venture I talk of is a 3 year course as a deck cadet in the Merchant Navy. During this period I will spend time in college and at sea learning how to become a deck officer. I will be attending college in September at Warsash in Southampton where I will complete an HND in nautical science as well as some GNVQ's in (aww I forget what exactly - something like ship handling).
